We have 22 active committees at John Fisher. Each has their own mandate and some their own budget. Some committees are made up of large numbers of volunteers, others by several and some are even run by one person. It is an extraordinary group of volunteers that enhance the education and experience that the students receive at the school. There is always room for more helpers. The time commitment is as little or as big as you would like to make it. In many cases the involvement is seasonal depending on the committee. So find something that works for you and get involved.

Volunteers and Police Reference Checks
In order to ensure that we are compliant with the Board’s practice to require police reference checks on volunteers who have regular and ongoing contact with students, we are reminding all of our school’s volunteers about this process.
The Board has arranged with Toronto Police Services for a special rate for volunteer police reference checks of $16.95. If you are a volunteer who has ongoing contact with students, please pick up and complete a form in the school office and submit a certified cheque or money order in the amount of $16.95 made payable to Toronto Police Service.
