Parents of SK students will receive confirmation of bussing from the school or from the board during the summer. Parents of JK and Grade 6 students do NOT qualify for Board Transportation however, “Empty Seat” applications can be obtained in and submitted to the office after October 1st.
By Parent/Caregiver
JK & SK Children should be dropped off in the Kindergarten yard/”the pen” situated at the southwest corner of the school facing Erskine Avenue. A teacher or an educational assistant will be on supervision duty 15 minutes before entry (that is, 8:30 – 8:45 a.m. in the morning; 12:40 – 12:55 p.m. in the afternoon). Our “Ambassadors” (Grade 6 students) also help with supervision in the morning. On rainy days, the children will be supervised indoors in the front foyer of the school (Centre Doors on Erskine).
Kiss ‘n Ride Program for JK to Grade 6
A Kiss ‘n Ride program, staffed by trained parent volunteers, is in full operation on Keewatin Avenue (North side of the school) every morning from 8:30 to 8:50 a.m. There are two designated spots for users of this program – parents can pull up, let their children off into the care of the volunteers and drive off with minimal delay. Parent volunteers or older students are available to escort younger students across the schoolyard from Keewatin Avenue to the “pen”/the Kindergarten yard.
By Bus
SK Children who use Board transportation arrive by big bus for morning classes, and by small bus for afternoon classes. They are dropped off at the front of the school (on Erskine Avenue) where they are met by staff that are on duty beginning at 8:30 a.m. and at 12:40 p.m.
Grades One to Six
Children who arrive by bus are dropped off at the front of the school (on Erskine Avenue) where they are met by a teacher who is on duty starting at 8:30 a.m.
