Focus on the Environment
John Fisher is very proud of its record as a Platinum level Eco School, now on its eighth year as an Eco-school.
Parents, staff and students work very hard to practise energy conservation, waste minimization and ecological literacy at every level. Awareness of the need to be stewards of our environment is a vital part of daily life at John Fisher. Yearly activities include: fall bulb planting, surveys of energy use and waste reduction, gardening clubs, eco-club, various awareness campaigns, vermicomposting, tree planting and monitoring, playground clean-ups, native seed planting, Earth Week celebrations, and participation in many TDSB Eco-school programs to reduce energy consumption.
