First Day Procedures

Welcome back to John Fisher P.S.! We are so looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.

On the first day of school, September 2nd, please bring your child to school for morning entry. When you come to the back of the school you will see signs posted that will say Grade 1, Grade 2 etc…We will have Grade 1, 2 and 3 meet on the pavement and Grades 4, 5 and 6 on the field. The Kindergartens will meet in and around the Kindergarten Pen (Please note Kindergarten entry dates are staggered throughout the week. This note is for students starting on September 2nd).

In each area you will see the teachers who will be teaching the specific grades (e.g. the Grade 4 teachers will be in the Grade 4 area on the field). They will have their class lists with them, so go on up to the teachers, say hello and check if that is your child’s classroom. Children will enter into the school with their teachers and blow you a kiss as they say see you later!

It won’t rain – but if it does Kindergartens will meet in the front hall. Grade 1s and 2s will meet in the Library and Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will meet in the gym. The same system will follow from there.

Team Jersey Returns

Dear parents/guardians and student-athletes,

With only 3 more days of school, I would ask that you please double-check to see if you still have a numbered penguin team jersey at home, in your sac a dos or elsewhere. As of today we are still missing numbers 2, 5, 13, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, 35, 36, 37, 39, 40, 46, 47. It will be very appreciated to have a complete set of team jerseys to start off the next school year. Merci! M. Lalonde

NEW THIS WEEK

JOIN THE JOHN FISHER TERRY FOX TEAM

This school year, John Fisher raised over $7,000 for cancer research. That is an achievement for which we are very proud. We have been participating in The Terry Fox run for the past 8 years and our students are proud and honoured to run “JUST LIKE TERRY”. The JF Terry Fox team is full of vibrant and caring volunteers who come together for a common goal. We teach kids about perseverance and determination as well as becoming aware of their ability to make a difference in the world. Cancer is tragic and unjust but caring for one another makes a whole lot of sense. We are looking for parent volunteers to step forward and join our team. A few of our main organizers will be planning our fundraiser for the last time as they are “graduating”. This year is a perfect time to step up and learn from the pros who make our event better each year.
