Track and Field season is upon us and the kids are, as always, very excited about it. The coaches are also enthused, especially since the weather has waited so long to warm our fields… Regardless, we are happy to finally get started on our training.
Firstly, we are putting out a call to all parents of JUNIOR students (gr. 4,5,6) who have an interest, perhaps even a passion for track and field, to please come forward to assist and learn from the those parent/coaches who have been doing this for several years. Without them, and eventually you, our program can’t happen. You are an intergral part of this collective endeavour.
Our formal practices for the JUNIOR students will be on Wednesdays and Fridays at North Toronto Collegiate Institute at 7:45 am sharp til 8:25. Please let me know if you can assist on either or both mornings. It will be greatly appreciated.
Secondly, track does start in gr. 2 for the PRIMARY students (gr. 2,3), but at a much tamer pace than the junior students. All tryouts take place during P.E. classes. Once timings and measurements have been made, I will ask M. Roy and Mme Alanna to let you know how you can best help. This is a very busy time of year for the coaches, please only send an email if you are offering to volunteer, and we will respond when/if your assistance is required,
